Twenty years of restoration
It took a whole community
Saving the Enchanted Forest was never a one-person job. Artists, builders, sponsors and volunteers — some for a single afternoon, some for twenty years running — are the reason any of this is still standing.
The Harrison Family
Created and owned the original Enchanted Forest. Linda Harrison Gardner has led restoration efforts since 2004.
Kimco Realty Company
Donated all of the Enchanted Forest attractions to the farm.
George W. Miller, Jr. Co.
Built foundations, repaired the Old Woman's Shoe, moved the Three Bears House, rebuilt Humpty Dumpty's wall, built the Mt. Vesuvius slide, and rebuilt the castle entrance in 2015.
Mark Cline (Enchanted Castle Studios)
Restored numerous characters including the Crooked Man, Willie the Whale, Jack & Jill and the Three Pigs. Fiberglassed roofs, donated Ole King Cole, and renovated Little Toot in 2025.
Clark's ACE Hardware
Provided paint and ongoing support for maintenance.
Signarama Columbia
Designed banners, farm maps and signage in 2005 and 2015.
The Iron Bridge Wine Company
Sponsored the Artist Reception and Preview Party for the 60th birthday celebration.
Preservation Howard County
Identified the Enchanted Forest as an important landmark and provided financial support.
Howard County Tourism & Promotion
Supported operations since opening.
Howard County Economic Development Authority
Promoted the farm's agritourism activities.
Howard County Historical Society
Loaned early photographs for display.
Drama Learning Center
Provided entertainment for the 60th birthday celebration.
Gymboree Play & Learn
Offered entertainment for farm events.
Thunder Grafix
Created farm maps, brochures and coloring books.
Monica McNew-Metzger
Volunteered extensively, restored attractions including Sleeping Beauty, and painted murals and the Sombrero design twice.
Meckley Services, Inc.
Moved the Enchanted Forest Castle to the farm.
Hampton Hotels (Save-A-Landmark program)
Primary sponsor for the Old Woman's Shoe, Crooked House, Rainbow Bridge and Merry Miller's House restorations — over 40 employees volunteered.
Cross County Builders
Transported heavy items including Mother Goose, the Black Duck, the White Gosling, and Cinderella's mice.
ExCel Tree Experts
Moved the Sombrero, Jack's Giant, the Beanstalk, the school house, the Crooked House, Rainbow Bridge, Merry Miller's House, the Old Woman's Shoe and Willie the Whale — and handled Little Toot in 2025.
Debbie Burchardt
Restored Cinderella's Pumpkin Coach in 2004, initiating the whole restoration effort. Worked on fiberglassing, painting and fundraising.
Barbara Sieg and Fran Reardon
Landscaped the gardens around the attractions.
Nan Sherman
Maintains WebsitesAmerica.com, provided vintage postcards and brochures, and edited the 2015 anniversary booklet.
Patsy Selby
Former employee who still serves on committees, paints and maintains the attractions.
Janet Kusterer
Co-authored "The Enchanted Forest: Maryland's Storybook Park" with Martha Clark.
Keith Kridernoff
Created the "Enchanted Forest: Behind the Scenes" Facebook page and compiled employee stories into a booklet.
Maija Kropp (S & K Roofing, Siding and Windows)
Replaced the Crooked House roof, funded the school house concrete pad, and installed the Old Woman's House roof.
Expert House Movers
Moved the Easter Bunny's House, Crooked House, Old Woman's Shoe, Three Pigs House and Three Bears House.

Major funding sponsor for the school house restoration.
